Training

I completed my psychiatry residency at Columbia University Medical Center, which has a strong psychoanalytic tradition alongside an active neuroscience and clinical research community. That environment shaped how I think about patients: psychodynamic understanding and biological thinking are not in opposition, and the best clinical work draws on both.

I completed my MD and PhD in neuroscience through the combined program at Weill Cornell and Rockefeller University. Before that, I conducted research at the NIMH on the mechanisms of antidepressants and mood stabilizers. I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees at Yale.

After residency I completed a three-year NIH-funded research fellowship at Columbia. I continue to conduct NIH-funded research there on the neurobiology of stress.

I am board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
